I do it all the time. I do lots of shite by myself.
Why? Because I'm not needy or afraid of being seen 'alone'.

I go to movies by myself so imagine it's basically the same thing

I go movies by myself all of the time. I just have never gone to a concert by myself. Music shows are a lot more social type settings than movie theaters are. But I'm definitely going.

I'm going to be in Denver on business a few days before a North Mississippi/Anders Osborne show. I would love to stick around for an extra day or two and catch the show, but I'd be by myself. So would it be lame for me to go to the show alone?
seriously? ...

When I was young I missed some great shows because I couldn't find anyone to go with me, because they usually had lame music interest. Finally, when I got older, I said 'frick it' and if I couldn't find anyone to go with, I went by myself. The thing is, I usually would find someone at shows I never even realized liked a particular group or I met new folks. Also, whenever I used to have to go out of town for work, I always tried to check out who was in town for whatever city I was in and saw great shows that way too! Point is, if you like someone, go to the show, screw what other dumb asses think!!

I've been to a couple. It isn't bad if you know how to make friends.
This. Girlfriend doesn't really to see G Mule and they're coming to Shreveport. Plan on going alone. It isn't a big deal.

I'd go just to see that black dude play guitar. He stole the show last I saw them.

Is going to a concert alone lame?
It can actually be very enjoyable. Usually after I have had a few beers I'll just start shooting the shite with whoever is around me. No one is ever "alone" at a concert.

You folks sure do a lot of socializing and talking while at concerts. If it's someone I'm really into, I'm not talking a lot. That being said, I went and saw the Wood Brothers last night, and I did end up socializing a lot. That's because I'm old and don't get out much, though, and it seemed like every other old friend who doesn't get out much was there... so it was like an old Fayetteville jamband/hippie/hipster reunion.

Tbh, even if you do feel lame at a show because you're alone, concerts are like the easiest place on earth to make New friends.
This is true and I don't know why. Of all the places where I've batted out of my league in developing hookups, concerts are #1 by a large margin.

Back in my jamband days, I was a pretty notorious dancer. So many dudes wouldn't get out on the dance floor for bands. I'd have a freaking flock of hippie chicks dancing around me every single show. It was awesome.

Get on the NMAS board on Panicfreaks or some other MB. Post up your plans. Offer to buy a few brews. You'll have a crew.
I used to travel solo to Panic all around the country, preferred it as I didn't need to worry about anyone else.

Why miss a show you want to see if you have the opportunity? Not lame.

not lame at all.
The thing is if its a good conert there won't be much talking anyway.
I don't do it regularly as my wife will go see almost anything with me, and if she won't its b.c its on a tuesday which means I might not be that interested in seeing it.

If you're going to dig the music wtf should it matter. If you're going to talk over every song to your companion the please stay the fuk away.

They were great. It's the 3rd time I've seen them in the last 6 months... so I should probably take a break.
I did the same thing with the Avett Bros. over a few months as well. Wasn't really intentional in either case, just the way my concert schedule worked.
