Is going to a concert alone lame?

I'm going to be in Denver on business a few days before a North Mississippi/Anders Osborne show. I would love to stick around for an extra day or two and catch the show, but I'd be by myself. So would it be lame for me to go to the show alone?

It's only lame if you make it so. Go, enjoy yourself. No one will care.

Only if you are incapable of engaging in live music/social situations alone. There is nothing lame about doing things alone.

As I travel quite a bit for work, I go to concerts alone a lot...
I found it better when I can get General Admission as I feel more comfortable that way, but I would have missed out on quite of bit if I would have just stayed in my hotel room...
And I find it much better than sitting in a bar by myself or hanging with the work colleagues 24x7
Because of this, I have seen a great variety of musicians and concerts
Michael Jackson - Seoul
Phoenix - Munich
Montgomery Gentry - Huntsville
Oasis - Montreal
The Killers - Vegas
Brad Paisely - Dublin
etc

I went to one show by myself because it was a band I couldn't pass up seeing. I didn't care because I just wanted to enjoy the music. I ended up running into some people who I know anyway.
I would do it again even if there wasn't any chance of running into someone I know. I don't go to concerts for the party experience or whatever. I go because I want to enjoy the music. How much conversation do people generally have at concerts anyway even if you are going with someone?

Ok, you guys convinced me. It really didn't take much convincing since it was too much of an opportunity to pass up. I have just never gone to a concert alone, but I'm pretty social so I'm sure I'll be fine.
Can't wait to see North Mississippi All-stars playing with Anders Osborne. That show should be outstanding.

I find going to shows alone to be liberating, especially festivals like jazzfest.

I'm kind of weird like this, but I really really enjoy going to shows (bars, restaurants or general travel) by myself. I'm very much a people pleaser and find myself in social situations worried about whether everyone is having a good time and enjoying themselves.
Sometimes the unspoken social "obligations" and contracts that we engage in are exhausting. Whenever I'm by myself, I find that I can just completely pull my own happy wagon and not be concerned about anyone else.
Of course, it kind of sucks at the end to not have anyone to confirm the show with and go back and talk it over, but I find the experience really enjoyable and different.
