Don’t crucify me fellow Gen Xers and older Millennials. 52 years old and probably have only heard songs off of Number of the Beast due to a high school friend being obsessed with them back circa mid Eighties. Seeing the universal praise that the band gets on this board, should I just start with album 1 and listen straight through. Binge listening if you will. I will be literally listening to them for the first time.

Bruce Dickinson isn't on the first two albums. A lot of people still like them but I can't get into it. Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, and Powerslave are generally considered their best. Somewhere in Time and Fear of the Dark are really good too.

Can’t go wrong with the first five albums, Paul Di’anno Maiden is great. It’s a bit different but still sounds like Maiden, and some of their best songs come from those first two records.

Very different band from first two vs. later stuff. All pretty good though

Killers is a fantastic album with Di'anno.

Maiden to me always have a few amazing songs on each album but also some duds.
Killers, Beast, and Seventh Son are my favorites.

Seventh Son and Dance of Death are my favorite albums. The X Factor with Blaze is solid too, although I know that is an unpopular opinion.

You really can’t go wrong. The first 2 albums have more of a punk sound, but they are still damn good. When Dickinson comes on they hit pure gold with Number of the Beast. In my opinion, the best hard rock/metal album of all time. I love Piece of Mind too, but everything they put out is beyond solid to brilliant.

Every album from the self titled first album Iron Maiden through Seventh Son of a Seventh Son(1980-1988) are considered the classics & you can't go wrong with any of them. All are flawless.

Of all the albums outside the 80's output I would have to go with Book of Souls(2015). Not a bad song on the album.

A decent way to get into Maiden would be to start with their live records. Live After Death and Flight 666 would be my recommendations. Really, any of their live albums would work, it comes down to song choice.

I love all their albums but they change a lot and get more proggy in the 2000s but still awesome.

My favorite is Seventh Son and Somehwere in Time. I love the synth era though.

Really just pick any of them and get lost in it.

Just get the greatest hits album and you’re all good.

The guitars in Nomad off of Brave New World is awesome. There isn't any bad Maiden.

Personally, Powerslave is my fav, but they have so many great songs that it’s hard to pick just one.

The best blow my bank concert ticket purchase I ever made was for second row Maiden tickets in Atlanta last year. Managed to catch Niko’s drum stick and sweatband for my daughter. She had one hell of a 14th birthday. That was only topped by meeting Steve a few months later where he gave her his sweaty arse wristband after the British Lion show. Good times.

Live After Death was one of the first two albums I owned. Great album. Seventh Son is probably my favorite though.
