I appreciate their talent and what they did for rock but I just don't really like any of their songs.

Come at me

I'll add to that. I think 3 of the 4 have a better individual song than the group.

No one's asking you to, no need to apologize

Honestly I was like you

Then we went to Liverpool, so ahead of that I listened to a lot of Beatles and read Tune In by Mark Lewisohn. In the couple years since, we've become pretty big Beatles fans and I've gone from very little familiarity to quite a lot, and with it - much more appreciation.

I'm a little worn out on the Beatles given that my wife listens almost exclusively to Beatles Radio, but nonetheless I've come around in a big way.

Phil Hartman's immortal line to Michael J. Fox in Greedy:

"I didn't like The Beatles -- and I don't like you."

Why does everyone have to pick on poor Ringo?

Do you expect angry replies filled with vicious insults, like you would get from Phish, Dead, or Rush fans?

You'll probably be very disappointed

I like some songs. But they are without a doubt one of the most overrated bands.

ETA: frick Paul McCartney

Good guess, but wrong. It's John.

I wasn't a fan either during their heyday, but got into Abbey Road at the time. I've become more appreciative of their music through the years, but their best songs weren't the ones that got radio play. All did solid solo work after the break up though. Harrison came into his own more than the others IMO.

If you don't like well-crafted songs with outstanding melodies, harmonies and great lyricism then The Beatles are not for you. Insane Clown Posse OTOH....

If you don’t like any of their songs, my guess is you haven’t listened to enough of them. There is something in their catalogue for everybody.

I was going to say, for people who don't like the beatles I'm curious if all they've heard is the poppy songs that get radio airplay on classic rock stations.

The moptop "I wanna hold your hand" beatles are practically an entirely different entity than the Revolver and onward beatles.

Phish and the Grateful Dead are two of the greatest artists of all time, regardless of form.

The Beatles, however, are by far the greatest. No one will ever come close.

A lot of people only hear I Want to Hold your Hand, Love Me Do and Can't Buy Me Love and think that's all there is to the band and never bother listening to their music in the mid-late 60s.
