Just download them from somewhere illegal. It can’t be that hard and shouldn’t really be illegal if you already own it.

That's what I do. I even have Opiate on cassette also. I pay for Spotify but download all my Tool off of Music Ocean Pro.

Descending isn’t necessarily new, something they’ve teased and played instrumentally for the last few years, just lyrics now.

Invincible is pretty solid. Not a fan of the slow build, but about 5 min in it gets going.

Holy frick these songs are incredible.

The hype is real. Both have a Lateralus/AEnemia feel.

So how are they going to release this album?

Tool has always been adamantly against the digital release because it lends itself to singles and they see their albums as cohesive things.

But the world has changed drastically since 10000 days. Releasing it only on a CD would be like only releasing it on an 8 Track in 1997.

They have to be a little flexible on this.

I think the streaming issue has a lot more to do with the structure of their standing recording contract. I remember something to the effect that the deal being pre-streaming/digital there was no clause for them to profit. So instead they refused to let it get released that way. But you do make a valid point on their album listening approach and attitude.

Maynard has pointed out he is not anti-dig/streaming by pointing to puscifer and APC

Tools deal was terrible and it's mostly why the album took 13 years to come out. They were in all kinds of legal crap after 10k days.

They finally got it resolved around 2015 or so and part of it was they had no way of making any money digitally or from streaming, so they held out.

Obviously that's resolved now signaled by all the streaming profiles just created and they are going to do a digital/streaming rollout for MMXIX

awesome news. I knew about the legal stuff but didn’t follow it ultra closely.

I’m debating on listening to the leaks or just listening to the album when it comes out at once.

lol i mean it was no 13th step or mer de noms. But it was still a really good rock album. people have just god like standards for this guy, which he's kinda done to himself, but just enjoy the music
