I'm almost mad at myself for having ridiculously high expectations at this point for the new album.

Lateralus and 10,000 Days and both records were just ok

You're definitely in the minority there, especially with Lateralus

I really liked 10,000 days. The problem with it is people built up expectations that could never be met over a five year period. The new album will have the same issue after 13 years.

It's Tool. Of course Maynard shot down the April release.

It allows Tool to pull off an epic April Fool's joke, and they will, book it.

Most likely they will release a joke album (they have done it before) on April 1st or soon before.

The real album will follow and they will frame it so it's hard to tell what's real

I'm estatic as I was in 2001 waiting on Lateralus... The day I put that disc in is forever burned into my memory. That album changed me.

When have they released a joke album? People thought 10k days was a joke album after its release, but I don’t recall an actual album of joke songs.

yeah, I quite enjoyed 10,000 days. Was it as good as other stuff? Naw, but it was still pretty fricking good.

I bet we see the album in July.

Was at a CD/DVD mfg plant today. Was talking about how few bands are exclusively CD and vinyl. I mentioned Tool and the guy said that they just ran some of those a few weeks ago . He didn’t remember specifics. Could’ve been runs of old stuff or.....

Adam just posted this, sounds like a rework of Descending. Hopefully, they play it in full on Sunday and we get our first taste of a new song

They are coming to Bham next week. I want to go, but already got tickets to see Dave Matthews before the tool date was announced. Super pissed

He uses that same technique at the end there where he pulls his index finger on his fret hand down the top two strings while plucking the strings. Same approach to the Jambi riff.

Took a while to figure that out, but its cool.
