Considering their last album might have been their greatest, you could argue that they would've continued to put out great material. At least until the 80s hit.

Like JFK, he is more revered having died young. He may be the most visited dead person in Paris other than Napoleon. His grave is probably the most visited site in the Pere Lachaise Cemetery although he is steps away from many great historical, literary, and musical figures including Chopin and George Bizet. Those two take a back seat to Morrison for some reason. I have been there and it is well worth visiting.

You'd be able to catch the happy hour wings special at Jim Morrison's Roadhouse in any major tourist area.

He’d have floundered and died in his early 30’s instead of 27.

Full blown alcoholic who had just started loving heroin? Does not sound like he had long. He’d have had to survive all of the 70’s until the BettyFord Center became a place to go. He separated himself from the world and from anyone who would tell him “no”.

OP question can’t be answered. Disco then the 80’s would have killed anything and ended The Doors relevance. He’d still have to survive the 80’s and Studio 54 days? And avoid the landline of AIDS?

Morrison was an old soul. He was connected to the Infinite and knew that this life is truly a fraudulent illusion. He didn't want to be here too long. He was a sane traveler in an insane world. Just read the lyrics he wrote.

I wish the rest of the band would have found a new lead singer and went on without him. Obviously under a different name. They were great musicians.

I saw Ray & Robby play a show about a year before Ray passed with a singer playing Jim. Densmore was never going to tour with them but it was amazing regardless.

Also, Jim wasn’t “getting into heroin” to the poster who said that. The theory is he snorted some come that Pam had on a table in their apartment in France that turned out to be heroin...like the scene in Pulp Fiction.

It’s pretty well known Jim was against any type of injectable.

Doesn’t mean he wasn’t getting into heroin.

The Doors were never as popular as the movie made them out to be back in the 60's.

Val Kilmer looked like him in the movie, so i’m just gonna assume Jim would look like fat out of shape Val.

He would have retreated into his wealth in the 70's and started a family, children from different wives. He'd enjoy quiet irrelevance until briefly resurfacing in the 80's for the We are the World benefit, crooning it out right after Kenny Rogers. He writes his autobiography after that. In the 90's he gets a boost to fame when Dre and Snoop dog drag him out to do a rap version of "Break on Through to the Other side". The single goes multi platinum. He's named King of Endemyon in 1999. He then retreats back to his wealth. In the 2000's he's last seen being trotted out for "Capital Fourth" celebrations on LPB, filling in the slot between Paul Revere and the Raiders and Hewey Lewis and the News. Sadly he passes away in 2016 after taking an ambien and falling asleep in his bath tub. He's buried in his Florida hometown in a quiet cemetery and fades away into obscurity.
