I know what you were trying to do there. You almost did it.

Govt Mule crushed it today. Haynes is an absolute animal of a guitarist.

And Gretna Fest is just a fun place to be. Glad you had fun.

Came to this board to make this same thread.

My wife and I went Saturday and Sunday. Cheap tickets, both days we were able to park for free in the garage no problem and just walk right across the street, no line to get in, extremely short and fast lines at every booth, great variety of delicious food, strong police presence so I never saw anyone causing trouble, everyone was easy going at every stage. Lots of people there but I never ever felt like I was crowded. Never had to wait in line for a toilet, all of them were clean.

None of the usual festival headaches. Really solid event planning.

I am looking forward to seeing who is in the lineup next year.

the lineup this year wasn't as good as it has been in the past. but, hopefully as we get further into post covid times, it will get better.

Didn't get to go this year, but they really do a great job at the fest. Very well run. Usually pretty great lineups too.

it was a great lineup

gretna fest is pretty easily the best run music festival ive been to in a long time

This. I was really disappointed in the lineup this year. I had beyond zero interest in seeing The Beach Boys.

What years were there especially good lineups?

Looking through their lineup history on the website, and sure there are some years I'd consider better than this year's lineup, but not by that much.

John Fogerty was great. We caught the last song of Cowboy Mouth and that was Jenny Say's. They got a young girl to come on stage and plug the drums while everyone chanted her name. That was cool and I'm sure that young girl will never forget that moment for the rest of her life.

Those are all good lineups for sure, but I don't particularly see any of them as being in a tremendously different league than Govt Mule, John Fogerty, Herman's Hermits, and The Beach Boys, at least not enough to say "back when they had good lineups"
