The album cover for Night Songs was so detrimental to them long term. Looking at it makes you either laugh or puke, Cinderella evolved into a certified blues rock act pretty much into their 2nd album Long Cold Winter. I saw them in the 80’s & then later in the 2003 & 2012 & they were great every time.

Cinderella. Unfortunately lumped in with hair metal acts of the day. Way more bluesy rock.

I can't imagine why they got lumped in with the hair bands.

I agree with your assessment because of that Bon Jovi influence at their start. I like to do my judging with my ears however.

First concert I ever went to, Bon Jovi and Cinderella, May 3rd 1987 at the Onondaga County War Memorial in Syracuse.

After they had a couple hits on Night Songs I'm sure they gained a bit more creative freedom.

Incubus - Their radio singles make them seem like bullshite pop rock but their albums show just how talented they are

Twelve Foot Ninja - Definitely some gimmick to their stuff (especially videos) but they are crazy talented musicians mixing several genres and styles within a single song. They even cover Huey Lewis

Dave Matthews Band - A band full of virtuosos that writes bafflingly strange music but the musicianship is second to none. I have to be in the right mood but DMB is a good listen, especially the live stuff

They have one of the best drummers of all time.

That dude is sick. Even if you hate the band you have to admit Carter is just absurd.

I think folks hate Dave Matthew’s Band for the same reason folks dislike Rush, the lead vocalist has a weird voice that some find annoying.

only on this board would a man get downvoted so viciously for stating objective truths about the differences in rock n roll vs classical music and for criticizing the lyrical stylings of Kip Winger

Winger simply had too many chick songs, but even with that Reb's guitar playing set them apart and he's still killing it today in various projects.

I ran across a live show on Youtube not long ago. It was a shaved headed Stapp so maybe part of the reunion tour and it kicked arse.
