Anyone else a huge DBT fan? What is your favorite song and where have you seen them live?
My favorite DBT song is a lesser known song: My Sweet Annette and a close second is Greenville to Baton Rouge. I wish they would play Greenville to Baton Rouge at LSU games.

ive seen them live twice now and they were awful both times. their sound guy is just god awful, it was so muddy and distorted, sounded like shite basically. I really wanna like them, but I doubt I would pay money to see them again.

I like most the stuff on Whiskey, Whores and Buildings which is a greatest hits album. Their individual albums are just too hit and miss for me. They seem to have 2 or 3 good songs on each album and the rest is mundane.

I f'n love them. I couldn't disagree more about their live shows, which are consistently fantastic. I saw Mike Cooley and Shonna Tucker drink an entire bottle of Jack Daniels between them over the course of a show, which did result in some sloppy playing, and a case of the hiccups during Zip City.
The band is clearly in their decline phase, as Isbell and Tucker have both left the band, and they are pretty far removed now from the run of Southern Rock Opera, Dirty South, and Decoration Day which is three album stretch as good as almost any band has ever had. Their recent two albums are a bit ramshackle, but I like the shaggy feel. They now feel like a band that is just gigging because that's what they do. They are no longer brilliant, but can still sometimes tap into that greatness.
Mike Cooley might be the best songwriter working.

Note huge, but I certain like a lot of their stuff. Space City and Women Without Whiskey are probably my favorites.

They would be better if Patterson Hood took a permanent vow of silence and moved to Botswana.

Where and when did you see them? I have seen them live 5 times now and they have been great every single time. You must have had some really bad luck!

I like My Sweet Annette and Gravity's Gone. Zip City is also a good song. Jason Isbell used to be part of the DBT family. He broke off and now has a band called Jason Isbell and the 400 unit. But in the past couple of weeks he released a solo album. Haven't got to listen to it yet.

Every second I listen to Hood is a second I could be listening to Cooley. I actually have grown to hate Hood as a musician and a human being. Guilty pleasure is the George Jones cellphone song.

They're my favorite band but I've only seen them once. That was almost 5 years ago. Favorites:
Zip City
The Living Bubba
Heathens
Ghost To Most
Uncle Frank
Outfit
Putting People On The Moon
They only have about 5 or 6 songs that I will skip.
