Do you know what the term iconic means?

Radio airplay doesn't determine that so much anymore.

I was in a movie with her called “The Slaves”, filmed at Buena Vista plantation south of Shreveport. I was young, but she came across as a b****. Her co-star Ossie Davis was the nicest ever.

How many songs have dropped in recent years that will be remembered 10, 20 years from now? Very few I bet.

Sure is. Just have to know where to find it. I haven't heard a Dionne Warwick song in years and have no desire to hear one again. She's a washed up old prune probably touring the casinos in Biloxi, singing the same songs she made when she was popular. If she were an icon, why isn't she still producing iconic music?

How many of those are recognizable to teenagers now? Those are the iconic ones. Just because you can remember the music you grew up with doesn't mean it's any better or worse than what's produced today. In 30 years some kid is going to make that same argument about the top 50 of today.

I agree that there is swaths of mediocre or bad music these days but there always has been... You just don't remember it.

God help us if Cardio B et al is playing on an oldies station one day.

Most mainstream artists today read and "sing" at a 4th grade reading level.

While she is an icon ... she from the 60's..... BUT there was WAY WAY more good music made in the 70's and 80's than there has been the last 25-30 years.... It depends on where you grew up and how old you are......... I would much rather listen to music from MY era than anything that is made since 2000.............

Not sure how old you are but I bet you are in your late 20's or early thirties that have ZERO clue about music in general..........

Certainly more opportunity to find it.

Big difference is in studio musicians.

Remember my mom and dad saying the same thing about 70s music.

My kids say the same thing about 90s music.

It's a generational thing.

blames the one before."

Don't belong on this list

A concise list to prove Ms. Warwick's point. Everybody on there is absolutely terrible.
