Mainstream music is pretty horrible. However if you look there is really good music being made.

I can see Portugal. The Man standing the test of time. They have some solid albums

I finally figured that out when I read the one guy that said he missed Starship.

Arcade Fire, Spoon, and Black Keys all will stand the test of time.

Throw Cage the Elephant in there also.

In that same genre, Kings of Leon, young the giant, death cab, the shins, etc. Tons of indie stuff will be long lasting.

I think both are timeless.

Example: Baton Rouge blues fest happened recently. Nothing huge. All I did was look at the lineup and look up (on Apple Music) every act I didn’t already know. Found, among others, a duo called Greyhounds that I’ll never hear on the radio, but they’re great. LINK
