Nickelback. no question
People hate on them but my generation.. late 20's.... we know a TON of nickelback songs....
Some are good and yes some are terrible.

There was this weird red pill that everyone took to hate nickelback. I don’t really know what happened with them in particular, I don’t go out of my way to listen to them but I don’t immediately change the station if it comes on.

Creed, easily. My Own Prison is not a bad album IMO. They went off the rails after that and Scott Stapp went nuts.

I feel that way with All the Right Reasons... seems like every song on that was a huge hit .

that's why i was asking for clarification.
I could probably sit and talk to Kroeger for hours about what Avril Lavigne is like in bed. But, Stapp seems like a miserable frick.
But, if i had to listen to the music all the time i'd go with creed.

I’ll take Creed. Most of the hatred of Creed wasn’t for their music, but for the pure unadulterated douchiness that is Scott Stapp. His antics and hubris off stage are what triggered the internet to start the Creed-hating meme.
Nickelback’s problem is that their music is bland, but not bad, which is why most people kinda liked them at first. The problem is their music never evolved. Everything sounds like the same couple songs over and over again. When you throw in how overplayed their early hits were, it’s a recipe for audience burnout. They’re hated for being repetitious and uncreative.
For that reason, I’ll take Creed with arms wide open.

Nickelback. Final answer.

Musically, I'd take Creed. Neither band is terrible in my opinion. I never really understood all the hate Nickelback gets. Even the worst Nickelback song I've heard is still 10 times better than this new age pop country/hip hop shite my kids currently listen to.

Sums up my feelings perfectly.

I don't find either terrible but if I'm stuck on an island alone I rather not be depressed as frick so I'll take Nickelback
As for what band I'd hang out with, it'd be Nickelback. I heard Chad is a frat bro but better then hanging with a douche

Creed, and it's not even close, as they were a serious band with serious intentions. The first album is great. The second album is pretty fricking good. Even Weathered is really good.
I don't get this thing about caring about the behavior/beliefs of the members. Most of this board seems to love Rage - and they are a bunch of fricking commie bastards! Who gives a shite?!?!?
Nickleback, OTOH, is just boringness personified. Even their biggest hit is completely blah (and also partially plagiarizes a melody from a Lit song, BTW.)
Tremonti is great.
The drummer also has a unique way of sneaking in quick open hi-hats all over the place that I love.
