Let me clarify that I LOVE Judas Priest. They are hands down one of my favorite bands of all-time, and this is one of my favorite covers. However, "Diamonds and Rust" may be one of the best folk-oriented, acoustic guitar songs ever written. There is so much passion and feeling in Baez's singing and the lyrics are deeply intimate and personal.

On this note, have you seen Priest's acoustic version?

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the obvious answer yet: Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker

His version should be called "Steaming Pile of shite" instead of Wagon Wheel.

Hall and Oates doing Me And Mrs. Jones

LINK

Great performance. Hall has so much soul and the point from about 4:30 in the video on is just a dude who still pours his soul into every performance even after 40 years.

Yes I have. I was always irked by the fact that Halford omits several verses from the original song.

Hell...frickin'...no. Say what you want about Dylan's inability to carry a tune when it comes to singing, but "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" was hands down his best vocal performance. Period.

Guns 'n Roses' bloated, overproduced cover has been played ad nauseam, despite being one of the most overrated songs in their catalog.

I hate to say it, but Disturbed's cover of Phil Collins' Land of Confusion is wayyyyyyyyyy better than the original.
