"Bend Me, Shape Me" by The American Breed was actually a cover of a song by The Models who were fronted by Janice Pennington who went on the pose in Playboy and then later become a Barker Beauty on the original "Price Is Right".

There was a New Wave band in the early '80's called this. They were from New Orleans and played quite a bit around LSU. They moved to LA and became Human Drama.

"Eli's Coming" by Three Dog Night was an original of Laura Nyro.
This is a nice version but it's amazing how Three Dog Night always could take songs to another level.

The Bee Gees wrote it and recorded it first, then Tavares did a few months later. Both were used in the movie and on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The Bee Gees never released their version in the US. Tavares did and it got to #32 in May of 78. Both are good, but I like the Tavares version better.
