What did you get?

Not presents, but got two new basses, one here and one on the way. Upgraded on one and lateral move on the other out of preference.

Sold Fender Boxer PJ and got a Fender American Original 60’s Jazz.

Sold Fender Ultra Jazz and got a USA Fender Geddy Lee Jazz.

By original, does that mean…not reissue? Like actually one from the 60s? I’m not a Fender or J-bass guy, but that red one is sweet either way.

No new gear to report, my hunt continues for a used Tech21 Red Ripper pedal. No faith in the upcoming reissue.

No pics, but my tired old Peavey Classic 30 has been resurrected into a hand wired Tweed Deluxe. After playing it for a couple weeks, I'm not sure why anyone would want anything more.

I gave my nephew an OCD overdrive and an Echoplex delay.

I picked up a Jackson RRXT like this. I had been looking at a Schecter, but ended up getting the Jackson.

It's my second one, I also have one that's black with pink bevels and inlays. Inlays and headstock are reversed also.

The white ones look good. I like the one with the black outlines on it. The maple fretboard with black inlay really sets it off too.

I got drunk and apparently made a lowball offer on an ESP Standard Eclipse II. As I was shaking off a hangover Christmas Eve morning, I was notified that my offer had been accepted, which was, incidentally, the moment I realized I made it.

I bought a pair of Behringer S-16s to expand my X-32 Rack to 48 analog line/mic inputs. I also picked up a second Radial Pro D8 rack mount DI box, as well as a rack mount Tech21 Geddy Lee Signature SansAmp bass pre/DI (for me)…and (36) 3-foot JUMPERZ JBM-3 Blue Line XLR cables.

I hope to get it all added into the rig in the practice studio in the coming days.

I’ve picked up 3 new basses (Fender Precision USA, Ibanez TMB100M (cheap), Martin BC-16E full scale acoustic) over the last year (I have 9 in all), but still seem to gravitate back to the Spector Euro 4. The curved back of its body just fits perfectly against my body when playing while standing—a snug fit that almost becomes a part of me.

I got the Ibanez for $159 (MSRP $199), then spent $300 to have it pleck’d and restrung with D’Addario!!—sounds crazy, but man what a difference it made—that thing is a pretty damn smooth playing bass now, and the neck is damn near perfect! It’s become my second grab after the Spector.

Spector Euro 4…

curved body…

Never have played one, but, having been a metalhead in my youth, Jacksons, Charvels and ESPs hold a special place in my heart. I've owned quite a few of the first two, but never have owned an honest to god MIJ ESP.

Been gasing for one of these. May get one with the xmas money I got. As if I don't have enough delays already.

Boss Katana Air - thing is awesome and completely wireless. Has app with all kinds of presets that I haven't even begun to explore yet.

Also early/late Christmas gift to me I put in a custom Kiesel guitar order that will be ready in May or so

No, its a reissue. Fender naming conventions. They have gone from American Vintage Reissue to American Original in the last few years for their reissue stuff.

Is that the 2112 rack mount? How do you like it? I have tried the normal Bass driver DI, but just didn't like the tone from it. I have a tube DI preamp with two channels so I can run one clean and slightly overdriven and one with much overdrive/dirt on it and love not having to have two pedals. Plus that tube tone is killer.

I bought myself a Takamine GD20 acoustic guitar as my present. I still consider myself a beginner. I've been playing an old squire strat, but wanted an acoustic guitar.

I had been considering buying myself a squier paranormal thinline telecaster, but I decided to just hotrod my les paul jr. sigle cut away kit guitar instead. It turned out to be a great player, it's just not very versatile. I'm going to mill out for a pickup at the neck position, mill out a slot for telecaster controls, add a bigsby b-5 and make a custom pickguard similar to a telly pickguard, probably out of quilted maple.

Right now the guitar only has a generic p-90 soap bar at the bridge position. I'm going to upgrade that one with a Gretsch p-90 that I have that came out of a lap steel, it sounds pretty good.

What do yall think I should put at the neck? A noiseless single coil, a humbucker, or another p-90? I've got an old Bridgeport mill that is good enough for woodwork, so I can do whatever.
I've also got a old Ford Thunderbird emblem that I'm going to make a hand rest with and bolt on just over the bridge.
