Cat Stevens is awesome. Best Singer-Songwriter ever.

If you haven’t had the chance go listen to his original version of “The First Cut is the Deepest”. He wrote that song at 17. I think while Dylan had greater longevity and impact Cat Stevens produced better and more meaningful music. Also I don’t agree with his religious choices but he’s the complete opposite of a phony. Others talked about greater ideals but he at least walked the walk with his convictions.

If a man wants to change his name to Yusaf Islam, we should respect his wishes and call him Yusaf Islam.

Love him. Watch Harold and Maude sometimes just for his music.

If only he had written Peace Plane maybe the towers would still be standing.

I’m a huge fan. Buddha and The Chocolate Box is a near- perfect album.

Till he went off the deep end
Keith Green>>Cat
Had he not been dedicated to christianity and lived, he would have been huge.

In 1979, after negotiating a release from his contract with Sparrow, Green initiated a new policy of refusing to charge money for concerts or albums. Keith and Melody mortgaged their home to privately finance Green's next album, "So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt.". The album, which featured a guest appearance by Bob Dylan, was offered through mail-order and at concerts for a price determined by the purchaser. By May 1982, Green had shipped out more than 200,000 units of his album – 61,000 for free.

I've always liked his music and his voice, but best ever? Nope. And he's actually gone back to "Cat" in recent years. Only way to sell his new record, I guess.
