Might? She’s in the running for biggest pop star ever.

No she isn't. In fact, there's a bunch of artists right now that are more popular than her. Here's three of them on a song together.

Travis Scott, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd - K-POP (Official Music Video)

Then there's Ed Sheeran, Miley, Shakira, Drake, etc., etc.

No there isn’t, using Spotify followers she's in second behind The Weekend. But it’s extremely obvious that she’s currently the biggest artist in the world right now

Popeye’s Chicken sandwich for music. Not a very good product, but a perceived shortage is created causing a run on them.

According to Forbes Magazine, citing a Morning Consult survey, the bulk of her fan base, 47%, is millennials, ages 27 to 42. The next highest age group is Boomers, 23%. After that is Generation X, 41 to 56, 21%. Only 11% are under the age of 26.

Kids that grew up listening to her and now have disposable income is a nice sweet spot for a fan base

Teenage girls love her. What else would you like to know?

This is the answer.

You capture that market you’re set. Able to age with the group? You’re Taylor Swift.

Teenage girls go see a movie 30 times. See Grease through Titanic. They swarm concert tickets. Used to make shows sell out in minutes now they drive secondary market prices into the stratosphere.

So OP answer is Teenage girls and ticket brokers.

This is just as absurd and judgemental as slagging Swifties. What is Dad Rock?

No it’s not. I listen to dad rock too. What I don’t do is listen solely to dad rock and make ridiculous judgments about people who listen to other types of music.

And if you visit this board on a periodic basis, you know what dad rock is. Don’t be coy.

Failure of parents. My 10 yr old can’t stand her while all her friends went. Taking her to her first concert in a few weeks…The Black Keys.

Sorry about your daughter being a weirdo. I bet she’s a chip off the ole block.

She’s the millennial Madonna or Brittany Spears only this time with social media like TikTok and Twitter to boost her popularity.

I hate her music and Im too old to even be talking in a thread about her but she is killing it. Like it or not.

She is worth 600 million right now and it expected to be worth a billion before next Summer. I dont respect the music skills but I certainly respect the hustle.

And I think the Britney Spears/Madonna comparison is for the love for hert but if young girls are going to idolize someone, as a old person, Id rather it be her than those two

I’m gonna let you in on something. Everyone doesn’t have to listen to the same music and that’s okay. Do I personally like Taylor Swift? No. Do I need to have someone explain to me why others do? Also, no.

You sound like I remember old people in the 60s talking about the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

The Beatles and Stones being 50X more talented and the parents of those fans did not subsidize their entry into the venue and haplessly cheerlead and try to validate said performers. Anyone doing so today is pathetic.

Those other acts you listed cannot sell out stadiums around the globe night after night, several multi-night stands in multiple cities. The shows are selling out in literary minutes. And it’s not like the dead or Phish, it’s a different crowd every night.

She plays the exact show every night.

That said, my wife and kids want to go and I’ll pay up to a reasonable amount so they can get it out of their system.

Sure they did.

That is a new thing and I must admit that I don't understand this.

Nope, completely factual. Travis Scott's new song just knocked TS out of the Billboard top spot. Bad Bunny was the number one streamed artist last year. The Weeknd is this year and holds Guinness records for most streams and subscribers. Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande all have more Spotify listeners than her. Swift is not the most popular pop artist right now, let alone of all time.

The Weeknd has been on a sold out stadium world tour for over a year now. Ed Sheeran sells out everywhere. So does Bad Bunny. Ya'll put this bland-arse bitch on a pedestal for no reason.
