In order to explain a phenomenon, you have to look at who are actually the people that worship this performer. It is White women & Gay men. Trying to explain the mindset of these two groups is going to take a while.

Teenage girls love her. What else would you like to know?

Jesus Christ. This thread again?

What is it about old white guys who can’t understand that not everything is made with them in mind?

And by the way, the vast majority of the pop music that you listened to back in the day sucked too.

What is there to explain? She might be the biggest pop star going today. Believe it or not, there are vast swaths of people who don't listen to whatever it is that you listen to.

According to Forbes Magazine, citing a Morning Consult survey, the bulk of her fan base, 47%, is millennials, ages 27 to 42. The next highest age group is Boomers, 23%. After that is Generation X, 41 to 56, 21%. Only 11% are under the age of 26.

She’s the millennial Madonna or Brittany Spears only this time with social media like TikTok and Twitter to boost her popularity.

She's bigger than both. Maybe combined. Doesn't have to whore herself out like Madonna did. And seems to have it together much better than Britney. Though nowhere near as hot as Spears.

I don't know how much this "Eras" tour will rake in, but it it's probably going to be the biggest--ever. Most certainly in revenue, and perhaps in attendance.

She's a Bonafide social phenomenon.

I don't personally get it...she sings some catchy pop tunes tunes (Blank Space ain't bad), but she's not a particularly good vocalist. But she's obviously giving the fans a good time.

Nothing but respect for her success.

She actually writes her own music and plays instruments.

She isn’t a great vocalist but neither is/was Springsteen and his concerts are considered some of the best. Like him , she plays 3 plus hours.
Do I listen to her music? No. But I’ve heard much worse and she actually seems like a pretty nice person. I know that doesn’t sell tickets but better nice than an
a-hole.

It’s simply a commentary on the sad state of music these days. Nothing more.

This is just as absurd and judgemental as slagging Swifties. What is Dad Rock?

Failure of parents. My 10 yr old can’t stand her while all her friends went. Taking her to her first concert in a few weeks…The Black Keys.

That's even worse. At least Taylor Swift is genuine. The Black Keys are hipster douche posers.

Is your kid liking your crappy music instead of their generation's crappy music cool? Like, for anyone?
