Title says it all.

Just listened to Permanent Waves all the way through for the first time in a while and remembered how they kick arse.

Incredible sound for three people.

Absolutely, but I am just a singles fan. I believe Limelight is the single greatest rock song, and I have never owned an album.

One of the most talented, impressive bands in rock history. They constantly changed, from the fairly basic hard rock debut to ambitious entire LP side length suites to condensed masterpieces, adding synths and different sounds, rhythms, textures and the final albums returning to a matured version of where they started. 3 gifted and adventurous instrumental players, plus brilliant lyrics inspired by voracious reading from Peart.

I believe there is something in their catalog that everyone but you know who can like.

Alex Lifeson is a very talented guitarist at the very least, Incredibly talented in my opinion. And he is basically "oh yeah, that other guy in Rush" to a great many music listeners.

That tells you a lot about how talented the individuals in Rush are and they seemed to mesh together and maintain that throughout their time together. I don't recall anything that remotely seemed like a rift or any talk of ever going their own way.

And their lyrics were really good too.

Yeah I really like Rush.

Couldn't stand them for a long time. I just couldn't get past the high pitched singing. I've grown to appreciate them more in my old age.

My all time favorite.
IMO, nothing in the music world compares. Their sound changed so much through the decades yet each season of music was top notch.
I first saw them with The Runaways during the All The World's a Stage period. Twice I saw them on the Farewell to Kings tour and once on the Moving Pictures tour. Backstage passes twice.
There's just nothing like them. Music, lyrics, performance...nothing

TIGHT

Nobody could or can make progressive rock sound like they could. They tied it together and made it so cohesive. You could almost dance to it. But if you tried, you’d hurt yourself.

Nothing sounds like it. The best.

how were the runaways?

Not that I'd trust the opinion of a Rush fan...
