i would have to add Outkast in London circa 1995 .. not a big crowd, but they were younger and it was in this really funky, soulful venue in North London.

Also, I would say that other classic/legendary Baton Rouge shows would be: Public Enemy at the Varsity, Widespread and Blues Traveler at Fred's, And you will know us by the trail of the dead at the Moon (for it's sheer energy), Modest Mouse at the Bayou, Eliot Smith at the Bayou

Elvis Presley in Monroe,La. Civic Center in '75 with all the famous La. people attending, Gov. Edwards was there and James Brown with the Flames early 70's original JB act/band, was unbelieable for a white guy there at the Civic Center. Delbert McClinton when young and the original Chicago too, at Northeast , early 70's.

Mojo Nixon at a bar near the South Gate in 1988. He was hilarious and rockin' like hell.

His opening was a Donaldsonville band called The Dick Nixons, all of whose songs were about you-know-who ("Dick Nixon fought the law, and the law won" was one lyric of theirs -- another was "If you don't bring Dick Nixon back, We're gonna paint the White House black!").

Could never figure out Mojo Nixon. Was he serious or a hip version of Weird Al.

I caught Dick Nixons a few times in BR up until 91 that I recall.
