Glad it's not just me, I remember when HOB NOLA first opened, that was the best sounding venue ever for what my ears like to hear in live rock and blues music (the only genres I've seen there).

If you're good at finding the right seat, I still think the HOB is a nice venue.

I have a soft spot for the old New Orleans HOB and was very disappointed going back there a few months ago with how it changed.

Frankly, if they've changed it in the last two years, I haven't seen the changes. Did they screw things up?

I guess technically disqualified with how you worded the question but Red Rocks and The Gorge are just on an entirely different level than anything else I’ve been to. Awe inspiring scenery and atmosphere.

I’m partial to outdoors venues so other than those maybe the Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago or Jacobs Pavilion in Cleveland.

I’ve always loved that New Orleans has numerous awesome ones...HOB, Saenger, Tipitina’s, Preservation Hall, etc.

Red Rocks has been my favorite as far as atmosphere. I went this year and it was awesome But for pure sound, the Fox Theatre in Atlanta is the goat

Love the Tabernacle but I'd have to go with the Masqureade. I really like the new one too

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are one of the tightest live acts in music today.

I wanted to take a nap both times I saw them. He's talented and writes great songs, but his live act is so boring.

Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport. Great sounding venue, looks great inside, and has a ton of history.

Fox Theater in St Louis is really something to behold.

Shout out to Brady Theater, Tulsa. old Vaudeville era theater. she's old, but the acoustics are great.

Also hometown love for The Cains Ballroom in Tulsa. Home of Bob Wills and Texas Playboys back in the day. spring loaded wooden floor.
Also the only standing venue in North America where the Sex Pistols played. The hole Sid Vicious punched in the wall backstage is still there.

I saw Bon Iver there last November, who is my favorite artist, and that show was something I wish every person alive could see. Unreal theater

I've been going to the HOB since 2001 and haven't noticed any real changes. The upstairs balcony is now closed off for vip, that's about it.

I went to 6 Dead shows there and it seemed they always had to keep the volume down because the sound traveled across the bay. They even eliminated some encores.

Well they have a curfew at Red Rocks now.

Went there once and almost passed out because of how hot it was inside. Needs an A/C retrofit.

Saw Jane's Addiction at UAB Amphitheater in the late 80's.Small venue ,but not a bad seat in the house.

The 247 Spies opened.

It was a good show.

I've seen The Who 2x at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta.

Pretty nice venue in the lower level.

Ive seen a bunch of shows at shoreline and its basically a generic shed like everywhere else in the country, i was never impressed.

The greek in berkeley is WAY better in the bay area imo.

As far as amphitheaters go, i prefer unique ones like spac in sarasota springs, ny and merriweather post in maryland.
