KISS

KISS is my favorite band of all time. And the first band I fell in love with. But KISS was like three bands: The mid-70's band that was hungry and cranked out cool 70's rock; the late 70's/early 80's band that was rich and struggled to find its way in a changing musical climate; and the mid/late 80's band that became just another poppy hair band, and survived on the sheer devotion of its loyal fans.

I regret having (tried to) like the mid/late 80's KISS. I don't regret liking the late 70's/early 80's KISS because it's so bad, it's good. And i'll never not like the mid 70's KISS. Their lyrics are dumb as shite, but it's good rock and roll to me.

Same here, though I think the major draw was the theatrics and not necessarily the music for me (I was in elementary school)... but yeah, they put out some classic tunes in the 70s that are still fun in a campy kinda way...

As someone who didn't grow up with KISS and only knows them looking back at them retrospectively, KISS the epitome of music being reduced to a put commercialized product with very little if any redeeming artistic value. They probably used to put on an entertaining live show with the lights and pyrotechnics, but I don't really care about that. I guess I never felt compelled to look into them beyond the normal stuff that I would run into because of this impression.

It's like people who shite on pop music. Do you know how wonderful going out would be without it?

Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed and yes I enjoyed the first Nickel Back album, actually there's not many from that era and style of music that I like now. I do like Korn, Staind and Creed though which seem to be on several peoples not like list.

Any of the late 90s, early 2000s nu-metal bands.

Staind Fuel

haha dude. I am with you on that. Loved Fuel in high school. I thought I was cool because I liked them before they got popular with their 2001 album.

I'll add these:

Nickelback
Alien Ant Farm (still kinda like Smooth Criminal cover)
Finger Eleven

Why would I regret liking a band? If I liked a band at the time, it was because I got enjoyment out of it. There are no repercussions. Where is the regret in that?

Maybe because, looking back the music you liked at the time was really horrible.

KISS. 'Alive' was alright, but they sux as songwriters and musicians.
They put on a good show but are musically dishonest.
I still think Ace Frehley was cool to bad they kicked him out.

But hey, don't take it personal, opinions are like.....everybody has one if you like KISS ...rock it. Peace Bro.
