I've resisted the temptation to post "Golden Throats" - a phenomenon of the '60s where performers of the previous generation covered current hits to pass for hip.
I've actually got that CD. I've also got the William Shatner CD where he covers Bohemian Rhapsody and a bunch of space related songs. (Space Cowboy, Space Truckin, Walking on the Moon, Spirit in the Sky, etc.) It's actually surprisingly good. It is loaded with guest stars. (Peter Frampton, Brad Paisley, Steve Miller, Ritchie Blackmore, Dave Davies, Warren Haynes, etc.)

I anticipate getting downvoted into oblivion, but I think Disturbed’s cover of The Sound of Silence is just god awful.

Jessica Simpson with any cover she's ever tried.

I disagree on Last Kiss.
My nominee for worst is Everlast doing Folsom Prison Blues.

The Judas Priest cover of Johnny B Good
Wasn't that recorded for the Anthony Michael Hall film of the same name?
If so, it had no choice but to bad...

Kravitz’ version was better than the hosers’ version. I never was a fan of those guys.

I love Dinosaur Jr, but their cover of Just Like Heaven is not good.

The Cult-Born to Be Wild, slowed down drivel. Always liked the rest of Electric though.

The Judas Priest cover of Johnny B Good ranks up there with the worst of all time. And I say that as a huge Priest fan. It’s just embarrassingly bad.
Meh. I don't hate it as you obviously do, although I don't think it is "great" in any way.
You know what sucks, though?
Mariah Carey cover of Def Leppard's Bringin' on the Heartbreak
"Bad" as in "LSU defense, 2023" bad.
