I’m new in the shop at work and the bro country is blaring. I want to cry.

Thankfully, no. I work in an office setting (accountant) and while corporate digs kinda suck, I can listen to music on my headphones all day. Make lots of playlists at work.

Usually during the summertime floating on the lake with a bunch of boats tied up someone is blaring the latest Florida Georgia Line or some other bullshite like that. I just drink more and float further away.

The amount of alcohol consumed is directly and inversely proportional to the level of care I have for what's going on around me.

There's a guy at our neighborhood pool always blasting bro country pretty loudly. That's the only time it's forced on me, and I can usually get a spot far enough away from him that I don't have to listen to it. I have asked him to turn it down a few times, and he's always pretty cool about it. He and I had a little unspoken rivalry a couple of summers ago with our music and who could get there first and get their music playing. He seemed interested in some of the stuff I listened to(Stugill, Ryan Adams, Allman Bros, etc.)

This is the only time I am exposed to it. Can't believe how common it is at Toledo Bend.

Some are born bro country, some achieve bro country, and some have bro country thrust upon them

My SO forced that crap on me for years.
Her: i heard this great song on the way home, you HAVE to listen to it!
Me: visibly in agony
Her: great! I’ll play it for you
Me: internally screaming
Her after the aong ends: so what did you think?
Me: i mean, it’s not my thing but the lyrics in the pre-chorus were kinda nice, I guess
Her: you must not have been listening, you never listen! Here, listen to it again. She plays it again
Me: kill...me...now...

This was at least once per week for over 6 years.

She brought two good songs:
“All alright” - Zach Brown Band
“What’s So” - John Paul White

I was lying on the elevated table to receive radiation in the radiation oncology ward last Friday when the redneck vibes started blaring through. It made an already painful situation much worse. When the radiation therapist came back in the room I informed her that if they did that to me again I would jump from the table into the wall and would no longer return for any more radiation treatments at their facility. Yesterday they chose to leave the music off entirely for my treatment session.

On a raodtrip with friends, one of the guys wanted to know if he could change from my playlist to Country. I told him no, he wanted to know why. I told him that "we would all be less intelligent if I did that". I think he is still mad at me.

It's all very tedious and redundant. And a lot of the names run together. I can't tell Brett Young from Brett Eldredge from Chris Young from Chris Jansen from Justin Moore from Kip Moore from Morgan Wallen from Morgan Evans...

My son has had it forced upon him by my daughter-in-law. When we visit and grill or hang out at the pool, it's forced upon me. After about two songs, I want to take her aside and

I don't understand how anyone with any intelligence at all can bear that crap.

most people just want to turn on and listen to the radio, and country is the only thing they can put it on that dosent offend them. It's like they have no other option, so they go full bore country. Its crazy because with internet radio there are more options than ever.

Dip-hop

I don't get it. Theres a few decent songs that seem closer to old country but the overwhelming amount is this diphop crap.

I've got a coworker who requests it but she knows it aint happening. I usually put it on classic rock to appeal to everyone.
