It's great for me that the band has a lot of different songs. Although recognition and a certain style are also very much appreciated. Music helps to get off the ground. I've always loved Bon Jovi.

For a long time I thought I Can Help by Billy Swan was actually by Ringo Starr. I still believe that, if you didn’t know better, I could convince you that’s Ringo.

For years when I was a kid I thought "Hard Luck Woman" was by Rod Stewart instead of Kiss.

Paul wrote it thinking it might be something Rod Stewart would record. But after seeing the success of a ballad could bring with Beth, KISS decided to keep it and record it themselves.

That's the only song of his that I'm familiar with. But he does sound like a female on the song.

He was a high tenor in his teens and twenties. His voice deepened as he got older.

I always have to remind myself that "Lay, Lady, Lay" is Bob Dylan because it doesn't sound anything like him.

Every time.

This is what I was going to post.

I thought Something In the Air by Thunderclap Newman was The Who. Funny thing is Pete had something to do with that band.

When I first heard Long Stick Goes Boom, I would have bet my life savings at the time it was AC/DC.

I remember looking through all my AC/DC albums trying to figure out what album it was on.

Not sure when or how I learned it was Krokus.

All The Young Dudes by Mott the Hoople. Always thought it was the Beatles until a few years ago.

Chicago's "Song for You". I never realized that it was Peter Cetera singing up until a few years back.

I though it was Hall and Oates until a couple years ago.

Not that I had thought it was somebody else but I was very surprised to find out Island In The Sun is by Weezer.

Had no idea who it was and didn’t care for it enough to seek out the answer.

I always thought "squeezebox" was the Beatles until about a year ago.

Also, when it first came out, I thought "oh Sheila" was the best musician that ever lived (Rogers Nelson), and not Ready for the World.

Shame, Shame, Shame

I always thought the 1975 song, "Shame, Shame, Shame" was done by Sly and the Family Stone. Especially with the combo of the beat, the horns, the girl(s) singing a' la "Dance to the Music", and the guy singing a few lines in a regular voice but then singing/screaming in a semi-falsetto like Sly Stone.

Found out about a year ago it was by a one-hit wonder named Shirley & Company.

The kicker? "Shirley" was the same Shirley from the New Orleans R&B duo 'Shirley and Lee', who had two oldies hits: "Let the Good Times Roll" and "Feels So Good"
