Any songs surprise you with who the artist is?

I just realized today that “Runaway” is Bon Jovi. I’ve heard the song but always thought it was someone else. Heard it on the radio today and looked it up and was shocked to see Bon Jovi. Just doesn’t seem like a Bon Jovi song..... but pretty cool.

Well... it is Jon, but none of the other members of the classic lineup were on the recording. Jon recorded it as a demo before the band we know as Bon Jovi was formed. Hugh McDonald played bass (he would later become a member of the band replacing Alec John Such), Tim Pierce played guitar (who was working on John Waite's Ignition album and would later tour and record with Rick Springfield), Frankie LaRocka played drums (also working on Ignition) and Roy Bittain played keys (From the E Street Band).
After the success of the single in the NYC area, a band was put together to do a short tour. This was the classic lineup without Sambora. Dave "Snake" Sabo, later of Skid Row, was the first guitarist.

I Never Cry
Love the song. Just seems so out of character for Alice Cooper

Only Women Bleed is another great song of his that is kind of similar..
Mine would probably be Sail On Sailor by The Beach Boys.

The first time I heard "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc I thought it was Paul McCartney

Funny on your take, cause I always can't remember who sings that song until I hear it and I'm like Bon Jovi. One of the few I like by them. Never thought anyone else did it. Awesome story above on the members and who and what they did!

That or she don't know me were the first two songs I heard from them...

I always have to remind myself that "Lay, Lady, Lay" is Bob Dylan because it doesn't sound anything like him.
Every time.
Every time.

That's the only song of his that I'm familiar with. But he does sound like a female on the song.

Crazy Horses by the Osmonds. And hell no I didn’t like the Osmonds back then, but I heard the song back in 1970 whatever and was shocked when they said who it was. I swear I didn’t like them. You gotta believe me.

Always thought "Turn Up the Radio" was a Def Leppard song.
The artist is actually Autograph.
