No, I'm not. Wilco is a lot more popular than Son Volt. In the 90's Son Volt was a lot more popular than Wilco. Mainly on account of there was no Wilco. I'm assuming that most of the people in the 90's that knew Son Volt are still alive. And I'm assuming that they remember the name Son Volt. So if you ask 1,000 random people in they know of a band named Son Volt and of a band named Wilco, more will say "yes, I've heard of Son Volt".

Sure I do rutiger. I'm gonna compile some data this month and show you that more people have heard of Son Volt. I've already asked 5 old people in this office. None have heard of either. I'll go ask the younger 3 dudes out back in a minute.

Before today I have never heard of son volt or jay farrar however I have heard of Wilcox and tweedy and I couldn't name a single one of their songs.
Before today I had no idea they were the guys from uncle tupelo. I remember their song effigy from the no alternative album
