One of my favorite songwriters from American aquarium, BJ Barham, is playing the roux house crawfish boil in BR on Tuesday April 3rd.
He's really great live because the songs are sad and the talking between them is straight up hilarious. Here's some acoustic songs by him.. He's one of the best young songwriters traveling the country these days and his live show is very entertaining.

Love the lyrics to that one. I'll throw out Tear Stained Eye - Son Volt. My favorite lyrics since Townes Van Zandt croaked. I'm very much in the Son Volt camp after the Uncle Tupelo split. Wilco was mentioned earlier and a lot of people like them but they just have never worked for me.

Many bands that have been labeled Alt. Country have expanded their sound, too...
The big "hey day" for the genre, was probably the 90's... the term "Y'allternative" was the one that made me always laugh...
