I think when Uncle Tupelo broke up, the smart money (mine was) was on Jay Farrar to have the better post UT career... Trace blew away A.M. In regards to post UT debut albums...
IMO, Farrar has never come close to anything that good again and Wilco's sound has expanded for the better...

I bought A.M. and thought Tweedy was the man. Since then, nothing. Solidly sold on Farrer. I can listen to Farrer sing anything. Tweedy, not so much.

Im completely the opposite. Since the split, farrers music has sounded the same, while tweedy and wilco have grown and progressed. Tweedy lyrics completely destroy anything farrer has ever done imho.
