Album of the Year 2018?

There was no clear album of the year for me. A lot of albums I liked, but not sure any were instant classics. Here’s ten that stood out though:

I'm actually in the very small minority and enjoy the newer music more than the older stuff. I think they do a good job of conveying the message and the sometimes very cheeky delivery of it. Disillusioned is a song that almost everyone posting on this board can relate to.

Kacey musgraves new album was a standout to me, personally.

I did not like the new APC album at first. But it grew on me a lot. I’m not a big fan of the one weird song that doesn’t seem to fit, but the rest is a damn solid effort for Billy and Maynard for not having put out a legit album in nearly 15 years.

I thought about listing it. It's been well received. I actually feel the album gets better as it progresses. I'm not a huge fan of Rats/Faith. I actually think their older faster songs are better, but I really dig the switch up in the newer songs. Songs like "Witch Image" have a very new age REM type feel. "Dance Macabre" / "See the Light" are fun as hell. Love the instrumental transitions too. Prequelle is infinitely better live though, where all of the songs hit so much harder. There is certainly no "Year Zero" / "Monstrance Clock" / "Square Hammer" on the album though, so I can't really endorse it as an AOTY candidate.
