Aerosmith is the premier band for ballads

Thinking of their string of hit ballads I am having a hard time coming up with another band with as strong a resume.

I occasionally break out the early stuff to remind me that, once upon a time, those guys were a badass rock band and not just a sappy, hit-machine.

I know many people don't care for the band because a large part of the catalog was ballads, but it's Bon Jovi. This is probably not even all of them.
Always
Never Say Goodbye
Bed of Roses
Living in Sin
This Aint A Love Song
I'll Be There For You
Lay Your Hands On Me
In These Arms
Runaway

"Last Child" and "Back in the Saddle" are peak early Aerosmith. Rocks is one of the best, most influential albums of the 70s.

The Scorpions are up there.

Their 80s/90s ballads were so fricking awful, they were good... so fricking cheesy they were funny..

Whitesnake had better ballads and never went cheesy like Aerosmith. My personal favorite for '80s ballads was White Lion.

Rocks was a really good album.
Last time I saw them, they opened with Rats in the Cellar.

Rightfully so. The amount of fine women that showed up to an Aerosmith concert in the mid 70's was of the finest top shelf ballad material on the globe.

Journey gets my vote too but GnR (Estranged, So Fine, Patience, Don't Cry) and Thin Lizzy (Still In Love With You, Wild One, Southbound) could write a ballad too. ACDC even wrote some stuff that was close until you listen to the lyrics (Night Prowler and Ride On).

Live! Bootleg is still in my rotation.
A bad arse American rock n roll band.
