yes. I've probably been to 14-15 Umphrey's Mcgee shows and they're very very talented, just really not for me. It's like this cheezy Chicago midwestern vibe, but if you're into hard rock jamz then it's probably cooler. I kige that fwiw. They have a few heady jamz though.

And I sort of get it. I get that it's amazing that they did this tempo shift here or that they did some amazing really technically difficult chord progression there or whatever
But it just doesn't do it for me
I do like their funky electro kind of grooves they get into occasionally. It's just surrounded by hours of super intricate prog-rock stuff that no one can possibly dance to

Jay-Z has been putting out albums for 20 years. He's in his middle aged "Steel Wheels" period. So, yes. Old dudes are buying his album. Lots of them, actually.
I'm almost 40, and I still listen to my old hardcore records.

They are a good band. I can't talk about them because they've come a long way. The electro grooves they have are awesome but I'd rather listen to a quality electro jam band like lotus. I'll never get too old for lotus.

I'm 24 and have never been "in the scene." Most of my friends actually hate Phish and other jam bands.
ETA: they think I am a retard for spending so much money over the years on going to shows but whatevs
