People were against blacks being in movies at one point too, this is all following a very similar pattern. And yes it all falls back on the outdated notion that’s gays are pedos.

true- I will be passing along soon but I don't give a shite about gays. I've moved on to screaming about transthings & groomers now. Does that mean I'm regressing or progressing? Hopefully I will be around long enough to whine about those who practice beastiality claiming they shouldn't be discriminated against. Oh wait- that's already happening from the Biden administration

This board likes Modern Family, and considers Cam one of the best characters on the show. Martin Mull and Fred Willard played a gay couple on Roseanne over 25 years ago and people thought they were hilarious. IIRC, at one point, there were more gay characters than black characters on network TV in the 90s.
The trick is, these characters weren't treated as special or different or better. They were just as dysfunctional and funny as everyone else. Simply being gay wasn't the most interesting or entertaining thing about them.
When creators of shows these days explicitly tout their "diversity" or "inclusiveness", it feels forced and suggests to audiences it doesn't offer much else of a reason to watch; the exact opposite of "organic".

Completely agree. They go out of their way to point it out which is really just lecturing the audience and that's a huge turnoff, or it is for me.

I never saw the original movie this is a continuation of.
But I saw that the same completely terrible actress from Solo and FATWS is in this. I'm sure she'll be equally as bland and uncharismatic as she was in those, though I won't make the mistake of finding out.
