Looks like a combo of This Is the End and Small Soldiers. Hopefully this is better than A24’s last violent comedy, Bodies Bodies Bodies.

as a HS Sr that year, it was fun seeing adults unnecessarily freak out about Y2K.
my classmates and i all had a plan to change the computers in the lab to 12/31 11:59 during class (before GPOs and NPT servers were a major thing to stop us) and it did nothing sadly.

Sort of perplexing that they base a movie around a big non-event - and recreate it to be TEOTW

I was a year 2000 compliance coordinator at a hospital for most of 1998-1999.
Loved having to call companies and asking if product number 8675309 was y2k compliant only to be told “it’s a wooden tongue depressor, so, uh, yes.”
