Shot in 2017, with a delayed release due to bad test screenings and reshoots, Dark Phoenix is on course to be the lowest US box-office opening of the series to date. It’s not as much of a disaster zone as that sounds. Solid enough superhero filler, as X-Men movies go, this is not First Class but it’s no Apocalypse either.

Dark Phoenix" took me by surprise.

The movie feels small for something with such humongous, universe-shattering stakes - and not in a good way.

#DarkPhoenix: The end of the X-Men movie universe is not a spectacular flame out; more like an ember that's letting off its final wisps of smoke.

I liked #DarkPhoenix more than I thought I would. It had some of the coolest action shots we’ve seen from the main X-men franchise. It’s better than #XMenApocalypse which is all I was really hoping for tbh. I’m whelmed.

It’s going to suck but I think there will be enough flutters to keep it close to 50. I’ll go 49%.

That would be a win, IMO. I seriously think critics are going to be brutal with this one. Hope I'm wrong.

None of the quoted reviews are particularly brutal. They're more shrugging disappointment than hatred.

Who would want to see a character that reminds them of Sansa Stark for 2 hours?

They should have ended the franchise with Days of Future Past and Logan, It would have been the perfect conclusion

So much for Sophie Turner capitalizing on her Game of Thrones career.

Jeremy Jahns absolutely lit this movie up in his video review. Said it was pointless garbage and called it the worst X-Men movie of the entire franchise.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is Dogshit

Chris Stuckmann didn't hate it nearly as much but still gave it the mediocre grade of a C.

Turner isn't a great actress and in the trailers she looks worse than normal. Every word from her mouth sounds like someone reading out loud, not acting.

Apocalypse killed my interest in the franchise so I wouldn't have checked this one unless it got rave reviews.

Dark Phoenix, looks like we'll have to table this discussion until (or actually, if) I get bored and catch you on Netflix one day.

I never would have thought that Robb Stark would have been the most successful in the post-GOT world. He probably benefitted from the fairly early character death and getting out in just a few short years.

She is and has been a horrible actress making bank off her looks.

She will be destitute; I expect a soft porn leak tape to surface one day to get back into the spotlight.
