I hate they wasted this movie on another take on Dark Phoenix. Xmen fighting themselves is so non interesting. PS. Is Sophie Turner really that bad an actress? She seemed adequate in Thrones but o well.

Why do we not have any films in the rebooted franchise of the X-Men actually being the X-Men? First Class was the origin story of the X-Men. By the time of Days of Future Past, the old X-Men established in First Class had been disbanded. When Apocalypse was released, outside of Beast, the X-Men were kids going on their first mission similar to first class but with a new generation of heroes.

Now the Dark Phoenix story will rip the team apart.

She isn't making Meryl Streep quake in her boots.

Regardless, they shouldn’t have done another Phoenix based movie. Fans don’t like her BS. And they already did her BS in XMen3

your last sentence doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things due to Disney acquiring Fox.

The other stuff sounds similar to the DC problem. They so badly want to adapt certain stories, plots, panels, etc from the comic books that they half arse the lead up and neglect to come up with something that makes any sense at all.

She lives off game of thrones, thats it.
I mean in fairness though, she’s only 23, and was 15 when GOT first aired (14 when filming). Not many actors have anything to “live off of” at 23. And GOT seems like it was quite a time consuming endeavor, and even the talented and established stars (Dinklage, Headey, etc.) haven’t taken on as many projects and/or have taken on really minor roles (e.g., Dinklage in Infinity Wars).

To each his own I guess, but I think she’s quite attractive. That being said, it’s a different kind of attractiveness, like she’s always naturally and consistently attractive, and she neither has those “wow she’s smoking days” nor those “man she looks like a train wreck” days either.

She is and has been a horrible actress making bank off her looks.

Never watched GoT so have no clue who she is. But when I saw the trailers and ads in this I thought, “Why did they pick such an unattractive girl for the lead?” If she’s banking off her looks, she’ll be homeless soon.
Say what you want, but the first iteration of the X-Men (Rebecca Romijn, Famke and Halle) are pretty impossible to beat. Massive step down to JLaw and this chick.

I think Fox just rushed this one along hoping to get one more in before the acquisition, had this script laying around and rolled with it. Such a deep bench of villains they had to work with and kept trotting out the same shite. Oh well I guess they left plenty on the table for Marvel to explore

That's exactly why they should make another Dark Phoenix story. Its one of the best, and maybe most well known, X-Men storyline and X3 was terrible.

Agree 100%. She is not really attractive, and the only thing resembling Jean from the books is the hair

Child actors do and she could easily find her way in that pile quickly because she is Sansa. She didn’t have to act for that part. Now that she isn’t on Thrones, there won’t be as much draw behind her name.

She isn’t an Isla Fisher, Amy Adams, or Jessica Chastain. She is very average for Hollywood. Got lucky and got in young on an extremely popular show.

Sophie Turners career is about to come to an end. Just can’t act. And looking at these trailers she’s so damn cringeworthy. Maybe she needs to try something else where she isn’t playing a serious character.

No, but she has the role of an important and popular character in a popular universe. And unless Disney decides to recast Jean Grey, not use her, and/or she turns it down, then she’ll have a good chance of playing in some huge blockbuster films moving forward, that will almost undoubtedly better than the films she’s starred in.

Maybe not Isla Fisher, but her look does remind me a lot Adams and Chastain, and they have gotten more attractive as they’ve gotten older, in my opinion.

RT critics' score for Godzilla = critics are snobby and stupid

RT critics' score for Dark Phoenix = a confirmation that movie is shite and Sophie Turner can't act.

It can't be both. Oh, wait, are some of you guys inconsistently using the tomatometer to validate your opinions that you formed before seeing the movies?

We've seen that Sophie Turner can act. Will she be any good in this? Who knows? Will she be in any good movies or shows again? Maybe, maybe not. We don't know. A dead movie in a dead franchise from a dead studio is not going to kill her career. No one's going to blame her, just like they won't blame Fassbender or McAvoy (who will inevitably have larger roles than Turner).

I wish Fox had tried to actually use Jean in a film series instead of relegating her to the Phoenix storyline twice. The original comic storyline is interesting, but I've never liked Claremont's X stuff. But in the movies, where we don't have a regular relationship with Jean, her becoming a "force" instead of a character feels like they couldn't figure out what to do with her, or with the direction of the franchise in general.

Disney is going to reboot and probably bring it into the MCU fold, with the exception of Deadpool, which really is in its own XMen universe anyway. She’s going to be done with XMen after this one.

What a fricking retarded post. Are you 10 years old? You know actors aren't actually their characters in real life, right?
