The Office writers were really good about putting real Scranton references in the show.

Are we just going by what's been portrayed on the shows? If so I don't see how you couldn't choose Pawnee. Scranton looks bleak, cold, boring and the only thing that seems to be enjoyable is going to poor richard's bar.

Pawnee isn't some bastion of high society either but at least is warm, has some nice bars and lounges, good parks, and JJ's diner.

But Pawnee is set in bumblefrick with Indianapolis being the major city near by

Scranton at least has NYC close

if the best thing going for a place is "it's only 3 hours away from" somewhere else, that should be a pretty big red flag.

Scranton, in the office, always reminded me for the California valley.

I wouldn't bring up it's distance to other cities, I'd talk about the qualities that are right there within..

Call poison control if you’re bit by a spider

But check that it’s covered by your health care provider

In Pawnee, you have a shot at attending a party hosted by these guys...

In Scranton...

You do have a shot at nailing Jan in the bathroom when she gets hammered so Scranton does have that.

I would love to take a walking tour of the famous murals from the history of Pawnee.

Vicky - Alcatraz
A shame this guy is no longer with us. He could give one helluva walking tour of Pawnee's murals.
