I’ve been watching a ton of Parks and Rec and recently finished it, and I’ve also seen The Office so it got me thinking. If you had to chose one city, where would you live? I think Scranton is overall probably better, except for weather. However I kind of like the smaller town charm of Pawnee, except for the fact that the average citizen is fat and dumb. In terms of proximity to big cities, Scranton is near NYC and Philly and Pawnee is near Indianapolis. For me I think it’s close but Scranton takes it. Where would y’all rather live?

Are we just going by what's been portrayed on the shows? If so I don't see how you couldn't choose Pawnee. Scranton looks bleak, cold, boring and the only thing that seems to be enjoyable is going to poor richard's bar.

Pawnee isn't some bastion of high society either but at least is warm, has some nice bars and lounges, good parks, and JJ's diner.

Exactly. This shouldn't even be close as they are portrayed on the shows.

Pawnee easily
-Paunch Burger
-Food and Stuff
-Free WiFi throughout the city thanks to Gryzl being headquartered there
-Huge national park run by Ron Swanson
-Night life includes the snake hole lounge and indian casinos

I could never quite figure out the size of Pawnee

Scranton sounds boring. Pawnee sounds more fun and outdoorsy stuff to do.

Real life Scranton has both the Lackawana Station Hotel and SteamTown a National Park (you paid millions for it to celebrate the steam locomotives. )

Living the high life in Scranton means heading off to Chili's

Living the high life in Pawnee is starting out at JJ's Diner, then heading to listen to some Duke Silver followed by late night partying at the Snakehole lounge then a drunken stop at Paunch Burger.

Only Michael Scott would pick Scranton.

Well with y’all’s responses, I might be back on the fence. Also, I just realized Jamm would totally post on the OT. Tom wouldn’t surprise me either.

It's supposed to be but apparently the people who did the show are about as good at mid-western geography as most people in Hollywood.

I'd probably have to go with Scranton based on what is nearby. Rural Pennsylvania can be pretty nice too, in the summer.

I actually went to visit Scranton last year and I wish I hadn't. Place is an absolute shite hole and I think about it every time I watch the show.

I also took Kevin's advice and got pizza at Alfredo's Pizza Café NOT Pizza by Alfredo and it still tasted like a hot circle of garbage.
