I don't know, but have an upvote because that video made me laugh my arse off.

Archie Bunker is a more appropriate discussion

I like when he makes fun of fat women.

Al Bundy would never make it on TV today except as an object of pure ridicule, like Andre's white coworkers on "Blackish". Bundy was a prophet. Everything he talked about as being some frightening harbinger of some dystopian future turned out to be 100% correct.

People would label him as misogynistic. But they probably won't bring up the times where Al protected Kelly from all the scumbag boyfriends that she brought home.

I like Blackish a lot, but it does bother me a bit that all of the white characters are crazy or buffoons.

Al Bundy is one of the greats. Watch him on TBS every morning before work. Great show, well written, well delivered. Al Bundy was also a prophet as this country has become the soft bunch of pansies Al "Scored 4 Touchdowns in One Game" Bundy predicted.

Ever seen an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

Should I check it out?

yes, of course he would.
as long as shows like Family Guy and Always Sunny remain ratings winners people need to give up on the whole "Show X would NEVER make it now b/c of political correctness" junk.

Never. Too many fat jokes and sex jokes. You know people would be offended.

Not today. But I have a feeling in about another couple years the majority of Americans will have reached their fatigue point with the SJWs and do-gooder ninnies. I think their will be more people willing to brave the PC backlash and put out more shows/movies like this.

MWC would definitely "make it" on television today. Very easily, I might add.
Now, maybe not on network TV (although I still think it would be successful on Fox) as much as, say, something like CC or FX. And it may not last as long, because back then it was pretty groundbreaking in ways (although irreverent comedy had already existed, a la All In The Family like someone mentioned). And if it was on today it would definitely make some headlines for some of the jokes, especially the fat women jokes, since America is completely pussified.
But it would definitely find an audience, if for no other reason than it was straight up just fricking funny. Al Bundy could be in the argument for GOAT TV character, and most of the time the writing was fantastic.
