It’s the same reason George fatass Martin won’t finish the books is because everyone figured out his very obvious R+L=J twist so he threw a hissy fit and essentially quit

yeah i didn't hate the finale of Seinfeld like most others. It wasn't great or anything, but really how else was it supposed to end?

Agreed. The nature of the show made the finale rather unimportant. There wasn't very much at stake in its ending like other shows with huge overarching story lines. For that reason I don't think it even belongs in this discussion.

Mad About You

Others mentioned were very bad- Seinfeld/GOT, but this show was about a couples struggles- and they get divored after the whole thing? I bet it cost them millions.

The ending of Better Call Saul was spoiled to me somehow. I found it so deflating that I have not watched the end of the final episode to this day despite loving BB and watching every other episode of BCS (some of which were absolutely brilliant).

I completely disagree. For once in the Breaking Bad universe a character took full responsibility for their actions and sought redemption. I did not see that coming and it was very interesting to me.

BINGO!

And you can add that to my bucket of anger. I read A Game of Thrones when it was first released. So I've waited for each subsequent book to release to read them. I've been a fan a long time, and held faith that he was going to do right by his readers and finish the story.

He won't.

frick him.

Mad About You

I had forgotten about that one.

My girl friend and I watched that show religiously in college. We went on to get married. The ending of that show was a big bummer.

I re-watched the last Seinfeld the other day - it is really, really bad.

It was completely different from what the show had been. Awful.

What is considered the series finale of X-Files? I thought the first one was decent enough. Do the two series revivals or second movie count?

How I Met Your Mother’s ending was so bad that it hurt the rewatchability of the entire show

Not for me. I just ignore the finale. The first 4 seasons are so good. I can rewatch those episodes all the time.

Game of Thrones and Dexter easily. I just completed a full watch of Seinfeld over the past year and the series finale definitely throws it all off a bit, but I can see what they were trying to go for. As someone else said earlier, good idea but poor execution.

I just read the Mad About You series finale synopsis and that doesn’t seem so bad?

Also, How I Met Your Mother…man talk about running a show into the ground and milking it for everything it was worth. I too gave up after about season 4 when I realized the payoff just wasn’t going to be worth it.

They were definitely married. Although I think the finale plot point had something to do with the marriage not being legal or something. It was a convoluted mess that didn't reflect the theme of the show, which was that this couple were in love, and that love helped them through all the challenges of life. They had struggles, but their love was a constant. Removing that at the end just sucked.

The finale for House wasn't bad at all. Not sure why it would be on this list.

Edit: Read the explanation from link. And it's very dumb. All of his colleagues had a ton of respect for him, even if he did messed-up stuff to them. I don't believe any of them would have preferred he went to prison. I certainly didn't want that to happen.

Battlestar Galactica and Lost still piss me off to this day.

Both shows thrived on the mystery box blueprint. And both just kept throwing more and more weird shite at you with promises that "secrets will be revealed next week".
this just reminded me of another show with a terrible finale

what makes it so terrible you say?

its because ITS NEVER GOING TO frickING HAPPEN
