There is one. I forget where I watched it(I think it was on Showtime years ago) and I'm not sure if this is the one I watched, but here's one onYouTube.

The comments on this video would lead someone to believe that most of the people interviewed were males that were downplaying the rape and violence. "I would like to hear the female POV of FreakNik" seemed to dominate the comments.

So it would seem like this video glamorizes the festival, instead of condemning it. Going to try to watch it later.

But already criticizing it. Take the L, dude. You tried to make a point with the Atlanta thing and it backfired. Move on.

How many FreakNiks have you attended? Did you get raped by black men, like a lot of these females did?

Freaknik in Atlanta was so bad with violence, crime, looting, etc it was cancelled by the city. A documentary with the narrative that was used in that HBO Woodstock documentary blaming black violent crime even though it is backed by statistics would never be allowed to air like that Woodstock documentary. It would be deemed racist etc.
Kinda like a lot of people in here being offended by the HBO take on white college dudes, essentially deeming it racist.

It’s almost as if men of all races can be problematic and violent and treat women like shite. God forbid someone point out the predominant race of men at a festival that experienced a lot of the above.

And I don’t know if the YT I posted is the documentary on Freaknik I watched years ago. The one I watched definitely talked about the behavior of black men there in a negative light.

So I watched it today.

So they spend a lot of time on how women were exploited and them being naked

And then they spend the entire documentary airing every naked girl they can find.

Holy hypocritical shitballs!

LOL how they tried to make a racist incident out of 200,000 people cheering on and singing a black guy's song. DMX.

I was expecting nostalgia like someone else said and got white man bad.

The second I read that Moby was one of the primary artists who contributed to the documentary, I was no longer interested.

The best part of the doc was when Fred Durst said "This is 1999 motherfrickers - stick those Birkenstocks up your arse."

And then Moby blaming all of it on Limp Bizkit. Moby is the poster board for white liberal bitch.

I don't remember the racism being blamed vso much as the misogyny being blamed.

The 20 minute segment on DMX???

They spent 20 minutes about "all of these college white dudes saying the "n word"". The documentary tried to portray it as a klan rally, rather than white college kids who knew and loved DMX's music singing the lyrics. Of course, in todays liberal douche world everything is ignored except for "white kids say n word".

In a documentary filled with cringe, that was the cringiest moment.

Came for the nostalgia

Instead got a doc on how bad white men are

Same! I was a teenager then and remember the hype leading up to Woodstock 99. The doc made it seem as if only teenaged and college white men in the 90's glorified women and wanted to see boobs. While on the other hand never would touch rap videos and that culture in the 90's

Eminem was entirely justified in calling this dude a **** because Elton John fricking Richard Simmons up the arse while Billy Porter narrates still is only a tenth as queer as this nutsack.

DMX literally led the crowd in a chant of my n---a and they portrayed it as mass racism by white boys. Naked girls were victims of sexism instead of maybe just wanting to drink and have fun. Remember when nudity was a part of women's pride and liberation? Not at a white boy concert.

They wanted to make and produce something anti white male, so oh yeah how bout that Woodstock that had a bunch of rock bands so naturally had a white male crowd and things went wrong. That'll work. Whole thing was complete propagandist divisive shite

I live in Atlanta and can remember Freaknik from 1995 to 1998. You won't ever see HBO make a documentary about all the violent crime, rapes, shootings, lootings, etc. the same way they did Woodstock 99.

The funniest thing about focusing on DMX was ignoring that Sevendust had a black front man and the lead guitarist was using a confederate flag guitar….which is a far more telling reveal of race relations in the late 90’s. And yet, not one word about Sevendust (or Ice Cube for that matter who was also there).

How do you figure? It was an actual event with real bands signed up and performing.

blaming Fred Durst seemed a little heavy handed.
I remember Kurt Loder blamed him essentially in real time. I think he said something like "Durst pushed a lot of cheap buttons that didn't help at all".
