re: Without Remorse - Amazon Prime 4/30

Oh what the hell, I watched the trailer, and it's not the damn book. His wife and kid were killed by a random truck driver by accident, and the hooker he was dating was brutally murdered by drug dealers because he screwed up.
Literally had nothing to do with foreign operatives, and yeah he went to Afghanistan but as a rescue mission person.
I'm kind of ticked.
I get updating it for modern times, and if done correctly Afghanistan/Iraq could work (instead of MIA/KIA camps, just do some soldiers who were "filmed" killed instead of actually killed), but use the damn book.

If this was just a generic action vehicle for MBJ, after watching that trailer I'd definitely give it a go, and probably enjoy it a good bit
But there's no way I can watch this as "Without Remorse" and not get pissed off about how much has been changed. I'm just too sentimental about that book and character to accept this version

I think that's the sentiment from clancy readers.. Me being one of them. Not gonna lie, I'll probably watch it but will always love the book better.

Best on screen Clark is Liev Schreiber. No problem having a Clark " style " of character in a Clancy story, but no, that's not Clark.

Halfway through. What is the point of calling this movie Without remorse?? It has zero to do with the book. And admiral Greer’s niece is some Seal commanding officer????

This is so incredibly terrible. Presumably they want Tom Clancy fans to watch. So why did they so butcher - no, not butcher - completely ignore, rather, the source material??? They’ll probably make the environmentalist radicals the heroes in Rainbow Six.

My favorite Clancy book by a mile ... and for that reason I have no intention whatsoever of watching this.

I've not read any of the novels that this was based upon so i don't have any pre-conceived notions of what it should be. I'm just judging it as a movie. It was bad. Michael B. Jordan could not handle carrying the lead. The female platoon captain was absolutely emotionless and lacked any charisma with any other person or object around her. Just two hours of meh.

Against my better judgement we gave it a shot last night. Gave up 3/4 of the way through. The guy playing Clark is certainly no Denzel.

Sums it up quite nicely for me. That chick being a seal was hilarious. This was a pretty terrible movie.
