I can't tell from the trailer what it's going to be. YA-ish or goofy fantasy? Predictions? I'm hoping it's watchable with a little humor.

There’s just been so little that’s good lately, it makes me think, “meh”. Possibly woke meh.

But I hope I’m wrong.

If you like sword wielding lesbians and a kidnapped prince (not a princess!) then this movie is for you!

I watched Willow on D+ with my kids when it first started and they have felt very sus about my viewing recommendations since then and I don’t blame them.

Anything Disney touches, they will ruin. Just always assume that to be the case with any property you remember fondly and avoid it like the plague.

Theres a pattern of not making a good story a priority over shoehorning ESG check marks and then expecting people to be satisfied with the final product. You can have both, but you have to make a good story a priority. They’re being super lazy because the writers are mostly entitled babies who expect people to just fricking like anything they do. And if they don’t it’s because they inserted x in the film and they’re bigots. In the words of Captain America

The first film was mediocre, and filmmaking has gotten worse in the intervening 35 years.

Do not expect much from the sequel.

As I recall, Willow was 'meh' back when the movie came out. Decent, but not all that incredible.

This doesn't sound like it's meeting the level of the original.

I loved the film. This looks like it's more of the same crap we've seen from Disney lately. It's even got 'freckled Jesus' in it.

I might binge it if people say it's awesome. Not looking good, though.

The cast has chemistry. That's about all it has going for it.

It will also be woke. As for the characters themselves, Let me break it down for you: come back on release and let's see if I hit Bingo or not.

Female protagonists - heroic, intelligent, strong physically and mentally, the centers of the story.

White male protags - not evil but with the IQ of a tennis ball // comic relief.

Nonwhite male protags - smart, funny, everything the white males aren't, but still secondary to the females.

Note you can pick up all of this literally from watching the "meet the cast" video. Warwick is comic relief and the white dude acts like a dumbass who is easily confused by simple things.
