I always thought the theme from Rescue 9-1-1 was creepy

My favorite show in the late-80s

It makes me so happy reading this thread and knowing there were a bunch of other 80s and 90s kids that were terrified by this shite. Hell if I saw Robert Stack himself at a grocery store when I was little I probably would have never talked again

Can confirm one episode scared the hell out of me when my grandma told me "that could happen to your brother"
Just what every child wants to think about, their brother being murdered on the side of the road.

Anytime they showed a police sketch I would get freaked out!

The biggest mystery was who was Robert Stack's homosexual lover

They did one on a missing Houma man, AJ Breaux.

You mean why would a show about killers being on the loose, being narrated by a guy in a cheap suit with too much makeup and creepy background music scare a child that was seven-12 years old? That’s a tough one to figure out.

I hated that show as a kid. I’d start freaking out around Tuesday because I knew my dad would have it on Wednesday night. I was too terrified to watch it but the creepy arse music would fill the damn house and there was no way I was going to sit in my room alone waiting to be kidnapped and murdered. For the next two nights I’d lay awake looking out my bedroom window just to make sure no murders were creeping up to the house.

I tell you what was scarier than that. The commercial with those time life unexplained books., still creepy

I was just talking to my wife about how scared I was of that show as a child.
Still creeps me out and has me looking out the windows just to see a picture of it.

It wasn't just the main theme. That whole soundtrack is spot on. Stuff like this: https://youtu.be/h6Z5Gcmzc88?t=174
