Why hasn't Aaron Paul done more after Breaking Bad?

I think a lot of people had him picked to be one of the next big actors but he hasn't done much of anything of note since Breaking Bad. Last thing I remember him in was a Vitamin Water commercial.

He has a charity he runs with his wife and I think he is set forward financially. He does commercials and probably does good money with voice work.

He is on two TV shows right now. He has a starring role on The Path on Amazon and is a series regular on BoJack Horseman on Netflix. Between those two he probably only has time for smaller movie roles like in Central Intelligence. He did have a starring role in Need For Speed (2014) which made $203 million on a $66 million budget so it's a bit surprising Disney hasn't greenlit a sequel w/how popular Fast/Furious flicks are.

Yeah, Aaron Paul is doing fine. I’m not all that concerned about him.

Too short, average looks, skinny.

Unless he lets someone in Hollywood rape or diddle him, he’s not going anywhere.

a) more of a normal dude than most actors
1b) he’s not an amazing actor
2b) you have to be damn good to shed iconic characters

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Thousands of actors who could've played that role. Malcolm in the Middle's dad did all of the heavy lifting.

I know whatever roles he's played since, I've wanted to see his Jesse character reincarnate, only to be disappointed.

I know I've type-cast him. Maybe Big Studio Execs have as well.

He had the look that perfectly fit Breaking Bad but isn’t that great of an actor otherwise. I’m more surprised Anna Gunn hasn’t gotten more work since

He is and will always be Jesse. Same for a lot of people on big shows.

The question isn't how does he feed his family, the question is why hasn't his career morphed into a star actor. See Sophie Turner. She's not a very good actress but she parlayed her role in GoT into a major XMen character job. She's terrible in the role from what I've seen, but she still got it.

Is The Path a hit show? If so, I think I'll check it out.

His acting was one of the very few gripes I had with breaking bad.

I saw him in some movie and he's a pretty shitty actor, when you get right down to it. Of course, that hasn't stopped a lot of other folks from making a living.

It's hard to think of very many actors who have done a lot of work after playing such a memorable tv character.

Aaron Paul has acknowledged that he has never taken an acting class (that doesn't mean coaching, I'm talking strictly about understanding his craft backwards and forwards the way a Spacey does). He caught lightning in a bottle..a lead role that was absolutely perfect for him on a GOAT tv show.

Having said that I don't think he really cares all that much, he made millions, has a beautiful wife, still gets regular work, has time to travel and work in his charity. Guy lives the life except people probably coming up to him and yelling "BITCH"
