I don't get the Tom Cruise hate. I don't think he's Leo or anything, but he's definitely as solid as they come. And I don't care about his personal life, I don't let that or politics influence what movie I'm going to watch.

Edge of Tomorrow is a great film. I liked it more as I thought about. It's one of those experiences with a movie that knows exactly what it is and it is executed perfectly based on that fact. Those movies are always a joy to watch.

It's sad how bad it's doing really. This isn't a mindless action film (and those have a place). It's a smart, coherent, sci-fi action film which are rare outside of super hero movies.

Tom Cruise

Yup, I am that petty as to not see a movie because I despise an actor in it. Put ANYONE else in that role and I'd have been all over the movie, but I just can't do it.

You realize not only is this just a terrible way to go about appreciating film, but if that you really stick to this....you do get to see him die over and over again. So if masochism is your thing he dies repeatedly.

If I refused to see movies because I didn't like an actor or director's personal opinions or lifestyle, I would probably never see any movies.

The same could be said for sports and other entertainment. If I only watched people I like and respect personally, I couldn't watch sports, movies, tv, or even read most books or view most art.

I always respected the way Truitt Cathy ran his business, so I guess I'll have to always eat at Chic-fil-A. Oh yeah, he's dead. I don't know much about his son so I guess I'd better do some research before I eat there again.

Time to go Amish I guess.

By the way, I'm not a fan of Cruise personally either, but I can respect him for his craft, and I absolutely loved this movie.

Nah, I was always going to see it. The description from the article alone guarantees it.

Also, I feel the same about Cruise as I do about Bruce Willis. I don't think either is a good actor, but they star in a lot of really good movies.

Not good actors? Good Lord.

And by most accounts, Tom Cruise is one of the nicest dudes in Hollywood and a truly professional actor (works well with others, puts his all into his roles/stunts/etc., gets along with others, etc.). Sure, he has some stupid/insane moments, but to avoid movies purely because of him seems like terrible criteria.

Looks like a fun popcorn movie. I don't mind cruise in these movies. He is really good in these roles.

well the article is pretty much saying it's the exact opposite and that is what's peaking my interest
