Why do we hate Skyler White with such purple passion?

I had a better answer, but I am several drinks deep. At this point, I chalk it up to the most basic answer of Skyler being just so twatty.

I think the general consensus on rewatch is she wasn’t as horrible as it seemed but still bad re the beginning and the bernicki thing.

This is the correct answer. She used Walt's criminal activities and the safety of Walt Jr. as the complaint for her losing power
We didn't grow to hate Skylar, in fact the show tried very hard to make her sympathetic as time went on. But she was horrible from the beginning. Walt was a giant pussy and she belittled him. Walt didn't change because of money but power and she resented the fact she could no longer walk all over him. Their whole dynamic is not about the money or drugs but a simple power play.
Once Walt became Heisenberg she felt powerless. She was a controlling despot in the home and as much desirable of power and control as Walt. Her way of power was their relationship and the household, Walt's was through meth selling and the typical male way, making money.
So she not only was a hypocrite but emasculated him and she revelled in it. When Walt was no longer the pushover, she not only couldn't handle it but lost her love for him. She married and wanted the guy who walked away from Gray Matter. She never stood by her man unless he was weak.

I didnt hate her as much as others. I get why people dont like her but some say she was one of the most hated characters ever is just wrong.
Plus her tits were great at times so she had that going for her.
She certainly feed off Walt and used it but she was also put in a pretty bad situation

Well I can't think of too many wives that would be all onboard with their husbands being a mass producer of meth and getting their family involved with murderous cartels. Not to mention how absentee Walt was with his newborn? Didn't he miss the birth because of a drug deal?
Why the show is great is because I can't think of an antihero that we cheer for so much.

BB is a miserable show, especially at the beginning. And arguably she's the most initially miserable character in a bleak show.

Her stupid a-hole husband refused to take a job with his ex partners that would have paid for his cancer treatment and pushed their family up into a much higher tax bracket. With them having two kids, one disabled, and another on the way that was an inexcusable thing for him to do. Instead he preferred to sit around for over a decade feeling sorry for himself wasting his talent as a high school chem teacher b/c his ego couldn't handle that he fricked up a huge opportunity when he was younger. He deserved to get belittled. He was a massive titty baby.
That's all before he gets involved in making meth, joins a cartel that murders people, hires on scum that kills a kid, kills people directly himself, gets Jesse involved which gets his friends killed and causes him to become a slave, gets his brother in law and other law enforcement officers killed, and acts like a total douche to everyone he knows.
