Why did Jack and the family get mad at Greg on Meet the Parents when he spiked the ball?

They are all getting on his arse for sucking in volleyball
He said ok and did what they wanted
Then they all get mad at him saying dammit Focker it’s just a game lol

But that scene is sad for another reason.
Poor Nicole DeHuff, IRL, she died from medical malpractice. Went to the hospital twice, they said it was Bronchitis and sent her home with Tylenol...it was Pneumonia and she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance but by then they couldn't save her. That was only 5 years after the movie was filmed.

The answer is because he can’t win.

I once spiked a volleyball into the face of a very hot chick I was trying to put the moves on. Pretty much lost any chance I may have had with her. But this was church camp volleyball. You don't step onto the court if you aren't ready, and I don't take it easy on anyone.
