There were some parts I didn't like, but all in all I really enjoyed it and will likely see it again in theaters.

I loved it also. But still some unforgivable mistakes by Johnson.

I don't hate The Last Jedi. As a standalone movie its very competent, but it fricks with the overarching Star Wars story in ways that are controversial at best and seems to flat out ignore or brush aside plot threads laid out in TFA.

Read the comments. The overwhelming sentiment is that it was a bad movie.

Let the past die... I think it is clear Rian Johnson was speaking directly to the audience a lot in this film about their preconceived notions of what Star Wars has to be from now to the future.

ETA: I don’t take that as him taking a shot at the originals or anything. They are great and we can rewatch them any time we like. But in an attempt at not just remaking them over and over, he was going for something new.

You should just go suck on the little man’s peen. He’d like it I’m sure. I know you would.

problems that the majority of fans feel:

1) leia flying scene was cringy as hell

2) Rose and casino subplot sucked, Rose ruined Finns character in this movie

3) Pink haired lady sacrifice instead of Ackbar

4) No snoke backstory

5) Rey’s parents nobodies (still don’t believe this). No way she just randomly picked up on the force in TFA

6) Most thought Luke’s sendoff wasn’t good (I thought it was badass, and loved that yoda was the one to knock some sense in to him

7) blatant SJW bullshite

Did I miss anything?

Quoting Han Solo, a mans man, while defending this piece of shite anti male movie?

In another thread I was saying that despite the glaring issues with TLJ there is still an epic ending to this trilogy. Rey's parents being nobody important is a crucial part of that ending. I had no problem with that storyline

Oh for sure. Although the Last Jedi didn’t hit the mark for most, I believe JJ will deliver an epic finish to the trilogy. Can’t wait.

But Leia - who never really used the Force in the OT - is suddenly defeating death by using her hand to fly through space?

She's Luke's sister - and didn't Lucas through out all that training in the prequels - and people who have the force are related and it's about DNA.

It's not like Rey had tons of training before she started kicking arse in TFA.

I’m fine with Leia using the force, the scene just looked stupid. Leia is Vader’s daughter; of course she can use the force, especially when in a dire situation.

If they wanted a completely new direction then why bring in the old Star Wars cast? Why make them central characters in the story? Why call it Star Wars if you're not even going to respect the Star Wars universe?

I think that's the direction they're going.

Luke and Leia are royalty. In Leia's case, literally royalty.

For Anakin, sure he was born a slave, but he was also the center of a prophecy. The Jedi religion was also in full swing, so he had that exclusive institution to cultivate his powers.

The new trilogy is arguing that there are no prerequisites for being a hero. I'd be okay with this if they hadn't already shoved in some SJW crap, but as of now, it looks like another statement about not caring about someone's identity in terms of what they can accomplish.

Rey is a nobody. A girl. She's marginalized and doesn't need to be brought into some structured order to be a hero. She can blossom as an individual and conquer evil.

The fact that she doesn't have famous parents doesn't bother me. The fact that they built it up to this grand thing did. It was an anticlimactic reveal.

It kind of falls flat when delivered by a woman who looks and sounds like Bruce Jenner.
